News & updates desk

Dated information, source checks, and changes that matter.

Source check: October 17, 2026

This desk directs readers to dated source material and the council’s developing review work. It is not a live pest-alert feed.

CRB: read dated island updates

The island-updates guide links to published detection milestones. Check the originating program for operational advice and recent changes before making a movement or management decision.

Public guidance under review

Our first accountability case compares public CRB guidance with other available records. The purpose is to identify what readers can verify, what appears inconsistent, and what still requires a response.

From the government archive

HISC maintains its own news, outreach, and annual archives. Those remain external records. We will add independent summaries of relevant developments as sources and dates are reviewed.

Editorial update — October 17, 2026

The first community website draft is being assembled with a dedicated CRB resource center and internal review of cultural knowledge and treatment claims. This date marks website development, not a new biological finding.
